CERTPOINT SYSTEMS CITED AS VISIONARY IN GARTNER’S 2009 MAGIC QUADRANT FOR CORPORATE LEARNING SYSTEMS

... Analysis recognises strengths around integrated authoring, mobile content delivery, learner collaboration and multilingual capabilities of CERTPOINT VLS™...

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 - CERTPOINT SystemsTM, a leading international provider of integrated enterprise learning solutions, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, inc. in the "visionaries" quadrant of the 2009 Magic Quadrant for Corporate Learning Systems. Gartner categorises visionaries as forward-thinking vendors, differentiated by their product innovation.

The Gartner report notes a number of key strengths of CERTPOINT VLS™, including an integrated authoring environment, content delivery to mobile devices, learner collaboration by providing wikis and blogs, and compatibility with other applications via a library of Web services. The report also acknowledges that CERTPOINT has a sizeable installed base outside North America and has put considerable effort into developing multilingual functions. To date, CERTPOINT VLS™ has been deployed in over 45 countries and in more than 40 languages.

Ara Ohanian, Chief Executive, Founder and President of CERTPOINT Systems, Inc. commented: “We are delighted that Gartner’s analysis has recognised the innovation integral to CERTPOINT VLS™, which focuses on meeting the demands for a new generation of workers in a increasingly global workplace. Business is more international and fast moving, and ‘learning’ environments must be more nimble and flexible than ever before. CERTPOINT meets the needs to empower the modern knowledge worker via our effectiveness on mobile devices, with social networking, and in ease of content development in more languages than any of our competitors. We consider our inclusion in the Magic Quadrant report a reflection of our success in meeting those needs.”

The report was authored by Carol Rozwell, Vice President and distinguished analyst on Gartner's Social Software and Collaboration team. In her introduction to the report, she defines a Corporate Learning System (CLS) as a “solid package of the core technologies, including learning management systems (LMSs), learning content management systems (LCMSs), virtual classrooms and multimodal course delivery.” Inclusion in the Magic Quadrant is dependent upon number of factors, such as being regularly identified by Gartner clients and prospects as a notable vendor in the CLS market, and having both completeness of vision and the ability to execute. Rozwell added social learning to the core components that a CLS should provide for the 2009 report, noting that “social software tools for supporting the structured social learning activities of individuals, teams and learning communities have increased in importance.”

Ohanian also welcomed Gartner’s assessment of how the Corporate Learning Systems market is changing and continuing to evolve: “We were pleased to see that in her introduction to this year’s report, Carol Rozwell notes that the CLS market is shifting towards the provision of broader social learning platforms that make learning more integral to the work people do. The focus for our innovation has always been on quickly delivering critical knowledge to front line employees, customers and channel partners, across teams in any number of sites - in order to drive seamless productivity across the extended enterprise. This has included creating communities of learners using wikis, blogs, and mobile devices to enable employees to enhance their knowledge and skills on the job. We are delighted that the market is moving towards the vision we have espoused for over a decade.”
